Reaper (1971): As we discussed yesterday, the first antivirus software in history, known as ‘Reaper,’ was programmed to eliminate the “I’m the Creeper” virus and succeeded. Despite the technical limitations of the time, Reaper provided a simple yet effective solution, taking the first step in the battle against computer viruses. This software was designed to detect and delete the virus, marking a turning point in the computer world.
